A beuatiful morning at Chiang Sean Lake, Chiang Rai

February 24, 2009

I traveled to Chiang Sean Lake on New Year’s Eve last year. Right, it was the trip over the New Year 2009 which I stopped at Doi Lang as the first destination. I then headed off to Chiang Sean district on the day before the New Year’s Eve. I arrived at the Chiang Sean Lake late in the evening. I had never been to the Chiang Sean Lake and well I’m also embarrassed to say I had not even known that there has any lake in Chiang Rai before. So, I could not imagine what it looks like in real.

When I woke up in the next morning (the New Year’s Eve)…Wow!! Stunning..Beautiful…Panoramic Lake View!

A modern coffee shop in Luang Prabang

February 15, 2009

img_6159JOMA Bakery Café is another coffee shop I visited in Luang Prabang. Decorated in a contemporary style, serve fresh baked goods daily and coffee and chill-out atmosphere are experiences you can get at the place. The shop is also well known for the fair-trade certified, organic Lao Arabica coffee. It is located at Chao Fa Ngum Road, just one block from the Post Office.

Because of word of mouth and travel guide books mentioned how delicious products and nice atmosphere of the shop are, I then have to become one of inspectors.

How was my comment?? Well, twice visits at Luang Prabang branch and one last time at Vientiane branch before I completed my trip …no more words 😉

A local coffee shop in Luang Prabang

During my trip in Luang Prabang last year, I visited two coffee shops. These places are oftentimes mentioned by travellers. They are totally different coffee shop styles though. The one I’m now showing you is in a local style, named “Pa-Sa-Ne-Yom Coffee Shop”. You can see this shop style on the street. I don’t know about others traveller particularly Western and European, but this shop is really well-known amongst Thai people. There’s even a phrase like “If you travel to Luang Prabang but you don’t have an experience at Pasaneyom Coffee Shop, you are not into Luang Prabang indeed”. Well, how could I miss it then!

The shop is located at Souvanbanlang Street alongside Mekong River, at a corner of T-junction near a ferry to Xieng Maen.
